On Thursday, December 5, 2024, as part of the research program titled “Digital Wellbeing in the Posthuman Era: A Critical Approach”, a qualitative focus group study was conducted with the participation of 9 adolescent students from the General Upper Secondary School of Kalloni, Lesvos, “Ignatios Agalianos.”

The meeting took place in a school classroom and was carried out in full compliance with all necessary ethical research protocols, while the required consents were obtained from the participants and their parents.

The highly engaging two-hour discussion focused on the relationship between teenagers and digital technology, exploring their experiences, challenges, concerns, as well as their desires and suggestions for a better future. The students participated enthusiastically, sharing valuable perspectives that enriched our research with insightful data and ideas.

The focus group discussion was recorded on video, adhering to appropriate procedures and safeguards. Footage from the session will be used in a documentary being produced by the Cultural Informatics Lab as part of the research program funded by the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the students for their participation, their parents for their support, the teaching staff, and the school principal, Mr. Stavros Karavasilis, for their hospitality and invaluable assistance in organizing the focus group discussion. The contribution of everyone involved was instrumental in the successful completion of this important research initiative.
