What is Digital Wellbeing?
Contemporary society is marked by the rapid integration of technologies aimed at enhancing human ability and productivity by extending physical, mental, and social capabilities. Within this context, digital wellbeing has emerged as a new concept. It expresses the delicate balance between the benefits and risks experienced by individuals in an increasingly digital world.
The Workshop aims to explore how the conceptual understanding of “wellbeing” has been transformed due to emerging technologies. The WELLBEING Project investigates the intersection of posthumanist thought and computer science, seeking to shape a practical philosophy for the digital age.
Core Questions:
- How do we define wellbeing in the evolving ecosystems of the digital era?
- How does digital transformation affect humans, non-human beings, and the environment?
- Do we possess the theoretical frameworks and technological tools to ensure wellbeing for all?
- What is the role of ethics in shaping digital transformation?
