About Us
Innovating Since 2002
Cultural Informatics, encompasses all areas in which the application of information technologies will and might impact human culture. Indeed, recent advances in the areas of information management, internet technologies and human computer interaction have greatly influenced the protection and promotion of cultural diversity and cultural expression.
At the same time culture is not only the object of technology but also its condition. That is, for any aspect of technology, there are as many cultural effects as there are cultural circumstances that contribute to making it possible.

Our Approach

In CILab we believe that the design of technological solutions involves acknowledging and embracing the transformative potential of digital technologies to augment human capabilities and experiences, while also considering the ethical and existential implications that arise in a posthuman context. In order to represent and communicate the essential components, relationships and dynamics of emergent socio-technical systems we propose the use of conceptual models. The model driven design approach stemming from the Requirement Engineering field, provides the methodological framework for representing, prototyping and testing theoretical models getting deeper insights regarding the relationships between technology and culture.
