The first launch of the pilot version of CILabot took place at the Mediterranean Researchers’ Night, Mednight 2024, an event aimed at bringing the public closer to science and highlighting its importance in everyday life.
CILabot, an AI chatbot developed by the CILab research team, functions as an online sociological research tool—a ‘digital researcher’—designed to collect large-scale quantitative and qualitative data as part of the research program “Digital Wellbeing in the Posthuman Era: A Critical Approach”, funded by HFRI. During Researchers’ Night, CILabot interacts with visitors, fostering meaningful discussions on digital wellbeing and exploring their perceptions of digital technology use. The data collected, along with user feedback on their experience with the ‘digital researcher,’ will contribute to improving the chatbot and advancing CILab’s research on the positive impact of technology in everyday life.
