Aspects of Representation: Studies on Art and Technology - New Technologies in Contemporary Cultural Expression

This book is the result of a research project, curried out by members of the Cultural Technology and Communication Department and collaborators within the context of the PYTHAGORAS Action of the Operational Programme ‘Education’. It is an interdisciplinary project covering the fields of Art History and Theory, Cultural Studies and Cultural Informatics. It explores the connections between contemporary artistic production and the impact of new technologies that not only change the artistic media (new media art) but also transform the ways that new technologies affect the traditional artistic realities and ideas especially in the post 9/11 world (comics, videogames, cinema).
